What can I really do with Organizational Communication major? I'm freaking out! Please help!?
After listening to my interests, my advisor put me in Organizational Communication at MTSU. She did so based on the idea that I like to work with children, students, but not necessarily teach. I like different job settings, not just one place to work for. I like to travel, and I like countries and stuff. So she suggested I take ORCO and also minor in Global Studies. Now, this is a second year at MTSU, and I'm starting to realize that I might have made a mistake. Being an artist myself, I didn't wanna do Education in Art because it seemed a bit boring, but I definitely do not want to be a manager! I realized that Organizational Communication is all about how to be a perfect manager, how to deal with employees, how to communicate with them to get the job done and so on. Ugh!!!! That's horrible!!!! Sounds like a cage to me! I'm panicking and freaking out, because I had to take loans to take these classes! I don't want to admit that I might have made a horrible mistake!!! I've heard about PEACE Corpa and UNICEF, and that if you have Global Studies you could work there, but I still want to make money, you know? So does anyone know if I could, for example, for for American Embassy in a different country with ORCO major, or if I could organize a school in Brazil for poor children with this Major for example? I've been surfing and researching with no luck! I am really just feeling lost and confused... John, you could suck my dick!!! Fuck face!!!

Tell your adviser where to stick it. Who hires these people to suggest unemployable majors to kids. I don't even know why they offer such a ridiculous degree. College has become such a scam for so many people. These advisers have you chasing false dreams. No, it is very unlikely you will get a job with an American Embassy with your degree. Frankly it will be difficult to find anything as you aren't honestly learning any real skill. I speak from experience If you want to get value out of the money you already invested stop listening to these employees of the college and do your own research. See what field are in demand. I can tell you right now nursing and engineering are big. If you don't have interest in these subjects you either suck it up or go to trade school. You need to learn actual skills rather then a bunch of hypothetical text book garbage. Art would be an even bigger mistake. I don't say this to be mean. I just think it is unfair that people steer kids down these dead end paths. You along with tons of other kids are simply not going to find any real work with these junk degrees. Good luck and please reconsider.
