Trying to send used Carburetor to Brazil but apparently there's a problem???

Trying to send used Carburetor to Brazil but apparently there's a problem???
Yeah, I took it in last week to make sure everything was fine with my package and get a price and the guy gave me a price and never suggested anything was wrong with it. I bring it in to the usps again today and the guy sticks his nose in the box, take a big whiff, and say i cant ship it bc it smells like gas. DUH! of course ti smells like gas. I already sold it on ebay and got the money for it saturday. I'm very upset and need to get it out asap but now they won't ship it. He said to clean it. how the eff do i do that? the only way i know of is to take it apart again which takes time and money (new gaskets). AND, the buyer's gonna be p!ssed. what do i do??? I thought about spraying it down with water (carb cleaner's expensive and i'd like to avoid buying it) and putting in dryer sheets and taping it up good. do u think this will work??? any suggestions would be a big help. thanks. ps it is currently double wrapped in bubble wrap right now

carb cleaner jus smells like gas, just wrap it in sarran wrap then double plastic bag it
2 :
Get a couple large zip loc bags and seal it up in those. You may need to use a new box because the old one may still hold the scent of gas.

i rent a car

There will be some gas left in the float chamber which will smell. Use a vacuum cleaner blowing (not sucking) or an airline, open the throttle and blow air through the carburettor. The airflow will act to draw the fuel out of the venturi(s) until there's little left. Depending on the type of carburettor, opening and closing the throttle rapidly may also pump gas out. Leave in very warm (but ventilated) place to dry out.

So, the Government money, Given to GM, to help save American jobs, was spent where?
LMAO, this just keeps getting better and better, what idiots we are for electing this waste as president. Mmm, Mmm, Mmm, Barack Hussein Obama...Oh, and remember, Buy American, buy GM, what a joke. excerpt... GM is investing bailout money in multiple foreign countries. For example, "Government Motors" is spending your tax dollars in Brazil. According to the president of GM Brazil-Mercosur, Jaime Ardila, the $1 billion to "complete the renovation of the line of products up to 2012" will come from the $50.2 billion bailout GM received earlier this year. Yet at the same time, GM says it intends to eliminate 21,000 U.S. jobs by the end of 2010. GM plans new investments in Mexico of $1.2 billion through 2011. It has promised to "continue to invest heavily" in China and to roll out at least five new brands there before the end of the year. And last Thursday, General Motors Chief Executive Officer Fritz Henderson said the company could tap some U.S. government aid to help restructure the company's European Opel unit. According to GM statements, "as a matter of principle, [the U.S. authorities] are not opposed to GM making investments in its foreign operations." American companies are right to invest and seek profits overseas. That's what a free market is all about. But the market is only free when the money American companies invest overseas comes from stockholders who freely choose to invest in the firm and customers who freely choose to buy the firm's products. When the government takes tax dollars from hardworking Americans, promises to use the money to bolster America's economy and then allows the cash to flow across our borders, it invites a populist revolt. GM can't be blamed for going where the profits are. But profit-seeking isn't the federal government's job. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/nov/13/exporting-auto-bailout-cash/ Crown Royal: you are a sad individual...why not invest ALL the Government money overseas, it will all trickle back to us, right?

Have seen many GM commercials, bet they spend more on advertising than they will on plants in Mexico. We should not have to support a company that obviously does not make a product that sells well in a truly free market.
2 :
So...you have a problem with global Capitalism? Interesting. They're going to be taking away foil hat for thoughts like that. You don't understand how GM parts made in the US make their way to cars in other countries?
3 :
The money wasn't GIVEN to GM. GM exchanged stock in the company for a LOAN. That loan will be paid off with interest. If GM makes good investments and good corporate decisions, that money will be paid back more quickly. If you're going to tell a story, try telling both sides. Your spin is just TOO EASY to refute.

It's like all TARP money, no strings attached. Like the big banks using the money for bonuses and to buy up smaller banks. No excuse for using our money to bailout "TO Big to Fail" business. Support Sen Bernie Sanders bill to break up these To Big to Fail businesses, a 2 page bill.
5 :
The UAW was facing financial collapse from having spent 40 million of their members money on the Obama campaign . The GM/Chrysler bailout was nothing more than a big thank you and political bribe from the Democrats . Scum all pure scum.
6 :
Good reason to buy Ford.
7 :
The bailouts were stupid and unConstitutional.
8 :
I just loved how our Feds, took TARP money and invested it in a Auto Assembly plant reopening in Maryland or Delaware. Catch ? It was in our beloved VP Biden's HOMETOWN. How's that for "helping your own" ?
9 :
I need to find a word that mixes sigh, ugh, and OMG. And you are right 100%. It is American tax dollars, sacrificed not from the uber rich or the government officials, but from the middle and lower class citizens, whose budgets are already stretched thin and can't afford higher taxes without higher pay. And you are right. If DC doesn't reel in the companies, and start giving the money back to the people, we are going to see a revolution that the world has never seen an equal to. It will be bloody and it will be long. It may even usher in WW III, depending on how other countries exploit the situation. Here's hoping that we do not have to see that day.
10 :
The bailout was not for GM or Chrysler, it was for the UAW. " I owe the unions big time. " BHO

looks like i'm buying ford

Living and Working in Brazil as a White North American!!!!?

Living and Working in Brazil as a White North American!!!!?
Thinking about moving there for about 1 year or possibly more depending how it goes as a skilled worker. The offer is standing and I am interested but hesitant. Me: -White -Male -Mid 20's -No family or significant other -English, no Portuguese yet. -Haven't been out of North America before. -Accustomed to Cold weather. What I know: Brazil is hot as hell. Alot bigger than most people think. Very diverse and populated. They speak Portuguese and alot of the citizens in school will learn Spanish and English but that necessarily means everyone can speak it. I learned French in school and it can barely get me by in a French country. It has its fair share of crime.. Infact a Favela makes Detroit look like Disney Land. So avoid the streets in rough areas at night, try not to stand out so much as a tourist, and definitely dont go in a favela or even near one. Scenario: Opportunity to live and work in Manaus which is a large city. About the same size as Toronto Canada. It is in the Amazonas region and is on the mouth of the amazon river. What are some things I should really look into to save my a$$ in sticky situations. I have thought of 1) Losing passport 2) Losing Visa, cash 3) Losing entire wallet 4) Being robbed of those things 5) Sickness.. I hear you can get diarreah there easily due to climate and water quality. 6) What to wear to seem less of a tourist. I am fairly tanned, I am sure I could fit in as a 'white' Brazilian before they talk to me, so long as I dress like one. 7) How much is like..say 5 bucks Canadian in Brazilian Currency? 8) If I live a very modest lifestyle, how much Canadian money could get me by every month. Id be alone, i dont want to starve, but I dont have to live high off the hog either. Dont need an amazing apartment.. but I dont want to be in the ghetto obviously. I am a white tourist that sont speak portuguese.. Id die lol.. IF anyone can help me that be greatl * 14 minutes ago * - 4 days left to answer. Additional Details If anybody knows Manaus.. What is the nightlife like? What are the girls like? Is it like typical north american girls? Either a pub or a club. Is dancing very big? Rock music? Metal? Hip Hop.. or is it diverse just like here? How are the clubs there? Same dancing style as north america? Alot of bumping and grinding? Or is it like..that latin booty hip shake type thing going on lol.. Are most bars sausage fests? What type of bars would you recommend for a young guy like me that be living fairly poor there lol. 10 minutes ago

Oh man...you want to go to Manaus? Well...Manaus is VERY, VERY hot and humid city. It isnt that big. Night life there is not that great during the weeks, on weekends its alright. Food is amazing! For someone that lives in São Paulo like me, I would want to commit suicide in the river by being eaten by piranhas. Brazil is not like other latin american nations, so no you will not hear that latin booty hip stuff you mentioned. We have our own music, and in clubs they play lots of eletronic music and american/british pop crap. Rap is not that big here. Also, I think you are worrying way too much about everything. You need to learn Brazilian Portuguese. Most Brazilians do not know how to speak English, and if you come here trying to speak in spanish, you will also get lots of attitude and you may not be treated very well. Brazil in many ways is very very different from North America. So when you come here just expect different dances, music, ways of thinking, language, jokes...everything dude. You cannot compare. (If I get thumb downs its because there is a retarded portuguese girl that has more than one account and keeps on thumbing down every single answer I give)

Well, I agree with my friend above, you're worrying way too much. Problem is that people ofter generalizes (bad) rumours about Brazil. It depends on where you are, what time of the day, what you're carrying... I've been to Europe, US, Mexico, Peru and learned that we should take the same care everywhere, same as your mother told you, like, don't walk alone in suspicious places, don't accept anything from strangers, don't walk with your wallet coming out of your back pocket. Apart from that life's the same for somebody that already lives in a big city. Brazil is not damn hot, but Manaus is... so get prepared. You'll be very far away for the main cities (Rio and São Paulo). However it seems they have a nice infrastructure there. Anyway, you'll get the chance of knowing brazilian regions that even brazilians will never have the opportunity to go. Also, about speaking portuguese, I wouldn't worry - I think Brazilians accept foreigners very well and even not speaking the language they'll always try to help, so it's almost sure that you'll have friends and/or a girlfriend soon enough. I hate to say that, but is true, being a foreigner makes you interesting to local girls - don't ask me why... About nightlife, I agree with our friend above too, and any brazilian city has bars, to have a beer, to meet friends, so if you don't like the music or the style, you can always go to a bar. About lifestyle and costs, as you're not living in the major cities, you'll live very well with not very much. Maybe you could contact your embassy here or a travel agency to help you find an appartment and to give you other useful tips. Good luck! : )

Is Carbon Tax and Trade Just Another Corporate Welfare Program?

Is Carbon Tax and Trade Just Another Corporate Welfare Program?
Face it, corporations like GE and Phillips are making big bucks selling everything from silly mercury filled lights to wind turbines with the help of government subsidies and mandates. Is this Cap and Tax bill just another massive corporate give away? Is it just more status quo corporate welfare? And if given US tax money, should GE build their wind turbines in the US instead of Brazil?

Presumably, the "Trade" part will work much like the stock market, and *anyone* (with money) will be able to buy credits and make money if they can sell them at a higer price. We might even get derivatives and bailouts -- just like the stock market.

only rich consumers can afford the tax making to poor even more poor.

HI!!! Me again! I just got this link. Hope you like !!! I"M so happy !! It took me FOREVER to find this info!!! I've spent all day looking for this!!

Unfortunately the wind turbines they are producing are the wrong design and they have a very short lifespan because of this. A more suitable design is being used with great success in 3rd world countries but it is not attractive enough for US liberals to use and besides it is to cheap and easy to make for a liberal to use. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/mlprojects5/files/Power/ This one while not very pretty is far more functional and can be built right into the house, garage or barn with little effort.
