If I buy carbon credit the money goes to someone in a 3rd world ctry so they won't cut down their trees?
If I buy carbon credit the money goes to someone in a 3rd world ctry so they won't cut down their trees?
Does that mean the demand for forest products is reduced by buying carbon credits? If Obama's brother in Kenya does not cut down his trees because he gets the proceeds of the carbon credits (after Al Gore takes his cut), won't someone in a country like Brazil fill the need for tree products and cut down his trees? This only makes sense, if the actually idea is to lower the standard of living in developed countries. Is that the real idea? Ultimately that is the only way this would seem to actually works, right. Make it to expensive to build new affordable housing for the poor and things like that right. I mean rich people will still buy homes so the poor in developed countries will be the ones punished. Does this about sum it up or am I missing something?

As I understand it, carbon credits are allotted equally, but the major corporations who would like to pollute the air and water a bit more simply buy the carbon credits from a poorer neighbor who does not have the technology or factories to use them. I don't think it has anything to do with cutting down trees, nor Al Gore or Obama. Carbon credits have been around a long time. It's just a way for the big polluters to continue to pollute without anyone crying "foul!"

No, the money goes to governments and companies that do not use as much carbon. Each company will be allotted so much carbon, if they want to use more, they need to buy the credits from others that do not use their full allotment. This could be anybody, really, but third world countries will probably have the most to sell. I do not think there is any stipulation on cutting down trees, unless they are using carbon to do it. This is why it is such a scam. We will still be putting out the same amount of carbon, but the company will have to pay more for it, which in turn means, WE will pay more for everything. All companies use electricity, many companies use gas, oil, coal, even. We will pay more for everything these companies produce, but the imports will cost so much less, the American companies will be forced out of business. You do not need a degree to figure this out. No company pays taxes, fees, or costs, without passing them on to the consumers. It is just a fact.

Who thinks the Govt is spending our tax dollars wisely?
Govt takes 1/3rd at least of our wages- we work for everyday. So out of a 8 hour working day, the govt takes about 3 hours of our money we make. How much more do Socialists want of our hard earned wages , and do you trust this govt to spend it wisely? Were you okay with Obama giving 2 Billion dollars of our tax money we give govt to that Brazil Oil Company that George Soros owns at least 700k in shares of? He has tens of Billions and doesn't pay taxes in America, but is getting our money to make more money. Is that FAIR to a liberal? Like are you good with our money going to pay for Nancy Pelosi's family to fly in Air Force planes around the world? Does it bother you at all that our hard earned wages go to Corps to bail out Unions that failed their workers? Same with GE Corp- they were about to GO BUST- Obama wins bails them out and didn't tell anyone he bailed them out with Tax dollars! Now CEO of GE works with Obama! Managed NBC network- People you are being FOOLED! Used and abused!

For some of us the govt takes more than 33% and if you add up all taxes including sales taxes and licenses the toll is over 50%. Our govt is terrible at spending. Also should people who pay no taxes get to vote? Doesn't seem fair that those who pay nothing get to decide how to spend my money.

our dear leader promised the brazilians,American know how,and American taxpayer money in their quest for deep sea drilling for oil,and promised to buy all they had.i wonder why he didn't make that same offer to the people of Louisiana who`s economy he ruined with his ban on drilling for American resources. Brazil stands to make trillions from this oil,why do they not finance their state owned oil corporations drilling activities,why is obama promising American taxpayer money.....silly me brazil`s government is a socialist government,obama is just practicing what he preaches...redistribution of American wealth,whats left of it. more good news,our dear leader also has given Brazil's state owned oil company one of 3 permits to drill in the gulf of mexico,using a Floating Production, Storage and Offloading vessel,that's sound secure,and another permit winner BP yes BP a larger cash donor to obama,and one American company.
