Im looking for an investment property in Brazil, which area should I focus my search in?

Im looking for an investment property in Brazil, which area should I focus my search in?
I am looking for a condo/apt or maybe a house if the price is right. I'm looking in the 350 k US and under range, i've seen plenty available in that range but I don't know which areas I should focus on. I'm looking for an area that's up and coming or with potential as opposed to what's hot and or saturated now. Preferably a place that would have a decent rental market. Would I be better off buying a couple 150k range condos instead of one higher priced unit? They wouldn't be a 2nd home for me, it'd strictly be an investment, a place I would rent out to whomever until the value increased enough for me to warrant moving it. Do you believe the potential to make money in the brazilian property market is there? Any relevant info you could add that you think I might need to know would be appreciated. Thanks in advance for all of your help

Try Itacare - it's an up and coming area - pristine beaches, surfers, getting more popular with European tourists. If you're American, you're better off investing closer to home - there are a few underpriced markets in the US that show a lot of potential.

Brazil PLEASE HELP!?

Brazil PLEASE HELP!?
Does anybody know WHERE they make money in Brazil? Like for example, if farming is a large part of their economy, where are most of the farms? Same with like, fishing, I can't seem to find this info anywhere else on the internet-- so I'm turning to YA, and before you say "do your own homework" I just want to say that I DID! And I just cant seem to find these answers!! So HELP!!

Well, farming... Brazil is a MASSIVE country so farms are also massive. They are widely spread throughout the country, specially on the southern half. You can check the vegetation and climate instead! The southern bit is greener, so they farm, the northern bit is, well, the rainforest, so there is nothing but forest over there... And the central bit is drier, so they mine there... There are also loads of underground oils fields throughout the whole coast ^^ The richest brazilian copanies are the ones that manage oil and mining, rather than the ones that farm. Hope it helps^^

My dad is a part time missionary. He goes to Africa every year. It's a very expensive trip. He's going to Haiti in a week and I'm going this summer. One of the best ways to build up money is to send letters to friends and family telling them where you're going and why you're going. My dad hasn't had to pay for a trip to Africa yet. God will provide the money you need. Also if you're into crafts or cooking you can find a place and sell things and tell people where the money is going.

Brazil is a fast developing country with 180 million people, most of whom don't have cars. GM is the #2 car maker in Brazil right now. This is probably why they spend money there. Because they sell a lot of cars there.

Why Do Most Brazilian Make Very Little Money?

Why Do Most Brazilian Make Very Little Money?
When it comes purchasing power on a per capita basis, Brazil ranks in at a pathetic 76th place. Even the average Mexican and the average Chileno makes more money than the average Brazilian. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_GDP_(PPP)_per_capita

Neither Chile nor Mexico had black slavery, When the slaves were freed they were whispered of the society the substitution of the hand of slave work for Germans and Italians created a social abyss that it is reflected until today. One of the rulers' largest objectives is to distribute income among the poor population, we are a rich country with poor population, that will only be solved with an base education of quality .
2 :
Because Brazilian people just like to watch futebol on TV, samba on the streets, surfing at the beach, and drinking beer everywhere. They don't like to work hard, they have more days offs them working days during the year. they don't fight, they are not humble people, and most of them are just happy for what they have, no great expectations in life, They like to pray and expect everything to come from the sky. and they complain about poverty, and blame god for everything. just like they say ''Brasileiro so'quer sombra e agua fresca"'.
3 :
No, we Brazilians do not blame God for everything, we work hard and even more, the blame is BRAZILIAN GOVERNMENT. And yes we are humble people and they never give up anything. Although frankly, talk that Brazil is the country of football, but is not seen as much, but because Brazil has already won several times in the world cup .. But anyway .. I also thought the Americans were stuck up and etc., but I met and I found some super different from what people say. I also think we know each other before judging. Kisses and Hugs! Good luck in your life.

Toronto job for very attractive girl? Need to make GOOD money FAST.?
I need to make money FAST in Toronto. I'm looking for suggestions from people in Toronto that might know of jobs/places to work. I need to make AT least 2000 a month, although 3500+ would solve a lot of my problems. I need money for my school year - this is my life - please don't waste your time or mine. Only useful suggestions please! Relevant info: I am a 23 year old female I'm a Computer Science student very early into my degree I'm extremely attractive, impeccably groomed and well-dressed. I really stand out physically I am educated, well-spoken, and charismatic - I have an easy time talking to anybody I am from Brazil. I speak portuguese and english fluently. My accent does not hinder communication I've completed a course on court interpreting - I don't remember what it officially qualifies me to do, but bottom line is I can interpret or translate portuguese-english and english-portuguese I have some classical ballet training and I'm very physically capable I will put up with a LOT of stuff (annoying co-workers, long shifts, manual labour, and more) if I'm being payed well I don't have my own car although I have access to one every once n a while I'd rather work close to where I'll be living (The Beaches) or downtown - but anywhere is fine as long as public transportation will get me there Thank you for your time, everyone. And I am very sorry for my lack of modesty, but I'm trying to keep it real. This is my secret Y Answers account where I can say/ask anything. why would you post an answer that doesn't help me? Need a little attention? Need a little putting me down? Do I sound like my life is great right now and that I need that? OF COURSE I'm looking in job banks like everyone else - I happen to be an immigrant supporting myself through a difficult and expensive university degree - I need this job desperately and urgently. I'm trying to maximize my odds of success at finding a job by asking here. And to answer your question: I am a model - but modelling doesn't pay well unless you are one in a million. The spite in your answer is obvious. I thought I made it clear that I claim to be attractive because it might be relevant. I'm posting this anonymously. Get over your desire to put me down over our egos. I have a million f-ing problems alright give me a break. Thanks for wasting your time and for upsetting me. why would you post an answer that doesn't help me? Need a little attention? Need a little putting me down? How much money will George Soros make on off shore drill ban in the Golf?
Soros has most his money invested in Brazil oil company which will lease OUR oil rigs Obama wants to shut down in America so he can destroy more jobs in America so he can destroy our ECONOMY more in America and SPREAD THE WEALTH to other lazy Nations who probably don't know how to build oil rigs or just don't want to bother with it because it would take too long. How much MONEY do the little Soros ROBOTS and or SOROS SLAVES who work for Center for American Progress and Media matters - how much do they all get to destroy America for Soros and Obama? This is like a nightmare- we have PURE EVIL controlling our country!!! 9 :
If the admistration can successfully place a moratorium on drilling in the Gulf - which has approximately 30 productive rigs and reduces our dependency on foreign oil, then we would have to buy oil from companies like Petrobras - a state owned Brazilian company which also includes Obama buddy George Soros in the mix. The likelihood of paying higher prices would also be a concern. See attached link for further information. It is not comforting that Ken Salazar is getting ready to slam another moratorium on the Gulf, given the federal judge in Louisiana kicked his previous one out of court.

F*** USA. your cops are pigs + racist. they get nothing done, even your own people are going against them. who gave this person a computer....

There are facts in this case, (wage differences) but a faulty assumption. There are other reasons why Brasil is struggling in "placement" in this world. And, the dollar variation has pros/con depending upon who is trading and who is receiving. Brazil's economy is strengthening in some secotrs and the dollar is rather weak incomparison to the Real. So, I'm seeing a brighter future for Brazilians if the ongoing corruption and crime problems (in some areas) can be resolved.

I would definitely discourage you from partaking on a hichhiking journey from Brazil to California. But if it helps: travel with another person that you trust read up on survival books (so you know how to battle hypothermia, survive the elements...) If a person giving you a ride acts even remotely suspicious or if you feel uncomfortable, leave ASAP Pack only essentials (you will develop a hateful relationship with your backpack, dont make it worse by bringing along unneccesary weight) keep a stash of cash for EMERGENCIES Do your research on visa options in the countries you will be entering before you leave Rio And lastly, when in Rome, do as the Romans do, so no acting immature or idiotic in public - try not to stand out too much or you will be the target of the wrong people and you will end up in a tight situation quicker than you can imagine
3 :
If you were drawing a map and wanted the easiest route from Rio to L.A. it would likely look like this: Take the ferry from Rio to Buenos Aires. From there follow the Pan American Highway to Las Vegas. From Vegas it is an easy hop to L.A.

Why is Obama loaning 2 Billion taxpayer money to Brazil--?

Why is Obama loaning 2 Billion taxpayer money to Brazil--?
for offshore drilling when we need to do it here in America? Answer: His friend and supporter, George Soros has a hefty investment in the oil company over there and will put billions in his own pocket from all the profits that company will make with our dollars. The oil will then come back here for us to buy. America could be reaping jobs and profits if we could drill in our own waters instead of in Brazil. Besides, it's our money.

He's accomplishing this unilaterally & UNCONSTITUTIONALLY with an 'executive signing statement', which is a thinly disguised ruse or end-around Congressional legislation which actually states that he can't spend the money unless the nation meets certain criteria & the best part is that the $$$ is part of the legislation. Bush & Clinton did this as well without shame with OUR MONEY. AUDIT THE FED & END THE FED and many problems like this will go away with it...until then you, I, other patriots and the sheeples will allow ourselves to be raped, pillaged & burned as we have for nearly 100 years. Be sure to email the White House about demanding him to stop. Go to Tea Parties, Congressional Offices & for sure the BIG ONE IN SEPTEMBER AT THE WHITE HOUSE. We must be relentless...you can start to see the affects we are having with: 1) Cap & Trade...Dead in the Senate 2) 2nd Stimulus Bill...Dead 3) ObamaCare...Wounded and THERE WILL BE NO PRISONERS TAKEN Keep the faith!

7 :
According to the Latin American Herald Tribune it's $10 Billion and we loaned it to them from the trillion we borrowed from China.
8 :
Another question: Why is about a million dollars from the stimulus bill going to help the field mice in California?
9 :
Well here are the actual facts: -The Import/Export Bank is a self-sustaining bank. NO taxpayer money is used in any of it's loans. -The Import/Export Bank ONLY makes loans that finance the PURCHASE of American Goods. The money can ONLY be used by Petrobas for the purchase of American goods and services. -Since 1993 the Import/Export Bank has netted the US taxpayers $4.9 Billion in fees without costing the taxpayers a penny. This is in addition to all the jobs created. -The Bank̢۪s bipartisan Board unanimously approved the preliminary commitment to Petrobras on April 14, 2009, before any Obama appointees joined the Bank. In fact, the Bank̢۪s Board consisted of three Republicans and two Democrats - all of whom were appointed by George W. Bush. Interestingly enough, the National Review posted an article online completely debunking what you are saying (which all of course started with Sarah Palin). The National Review is a NOTED CONSERVATIVE publication. So what I see is once again Obama's opponents taking a grain of something out of something Obama does and saying "How can we twist this into something that will make him look bad." Sarah Palin did get one thing right : "Why don't you just stop making things up?"

It's differs from one crop to another, from one location to another, and from one year to another. But generally, farming is not a highly profitable business; moreover, a small number of very large farms earn the bulk of profits...

Wow, good for you. Enjoy the life while you can. If you can get in contact with some travel companies / magazines maybe you can write some travel articles. How old are you? If you are realtively young 18 to about 30 maybe you can earn some money on the beach if you go there. One thing you need to remember. If you are not a citizen of that country, then you may be violating the laws of that country by not having a work permit. I see you will be hitting a lot of countries that require visas in advance. Have you taken care of all your visas? http://www.samspassport.com Whatever happens, enjoy your trip.

I would cut back my intinerary to say this time the Dominican Republic and Cuba. Save it for another time and go for Mexico through Costa Rica by bus, not expensive and good buses Then fly to the mainland of South America, Colombia or Venezuela. In Colombia you can take a boat down the Amazon from Letiicia, Colombia Work is not easy to come by and pays little

USA Salaries are higher, and companies and governments can afford to pay professionals more
2 :
It is really based on supply and demand. If a country needs an engineer of a certain type, say civil, then the demand will translate into a higher salary. If the U.S. has a surplus of civil engineers, the salary will be low. However, there is a greater potential to make a lot of money in the U. S. But like everything else, it depends on the engineers qualifications and work history.

Can I really make a decent living teaching English in Brazil?

Can I really make a decent living teaching English in Brazil?
This is really two questions: 1. Can I make enough money teaching English in Brazil to have a decent standard of living? 2. How do I go about finding a job teaching English in Brazil?
Other - Brazil - 7 Answers
Random Answers, Critics, Comments, Opinions :
1 :
Just to give you an example: My wife taught English in Brazil for almost 2 years. At first, she worked for English schools, where it is easy to find jobs, being a native English speaker. You can make about R$ 10.00- R$12.00 an hour in a small town, where cost of living is not high. Working in a big city might get you double, tough, of course, you'll spend more to live. Now, we rented an apartment, where she gave out classes to groups of 3-6 people, twice a week. She made average R$ 35.00 an hour, which is over US$17.00, under the table, which basically represents over US$ 25.00 if you had to pay taxes on it. We have been back to Boston for 4 years and she has never made that kind of money up here, needless to say that we spent around US$ 400.00 a month to live in Brazil and it takes us around US$ 2500.00 monthly to live here. We have plans to move back soon! I hope it helps you! Look for these schools: FISK, CCAA, Wizard and Quality.
2 :
I live in Brazil. To get a job teaching English here is very easy, but you must know also Portuguese. About the money, I think it is according the kind of city. The small cities pay less money but you spend less, and big cities is the opposite.
3 :
private language schools will pay you about R$25/hour here in minas gerais. if you are willing to work full-time - which can be very tiring, but that´s up to you - you can make around $1500 a month and live pretty decently. try numberone.com.br, it has schools all over brazil, and you get proper training and support.
4 :
Go to Brazil, find a place to live and work, put an advert in the local papers, "English lessons by native speaker" 10 real an hour, you get lots of phone calls from women saying I want some lessons, any type!

My wife wants to move back to Brasil one day & this is about the only option open to me. She tells me that as a native speaker you can earn a lot more than a Brasilian who had learnt English as native speakers are in high demand. She says that if you can arrange private lessons you'll be onto a winner. Although I love Brasil a lot though (I regard it as my second home) there are loads of things that I can do without there like the bureaucracy.
6 :
THE PEOPLE LOOK FOR ENGLISH LANGUAGE.
7 :
Have lived in Brazil for 28 years and had friends who taught English. Generally they had another source of income as well, that is, if it was a couple, one taught English and the other did something else. To live off English teaching alone would be very difficult. Brazil has become more expensive these days and rent, gasoline, air fares are all quite high. Think before you jump in.

When you exchange their currency into American dollars, the average Brazilian household only makes the equivalent of 8 thousand dollars a year. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Brazil

China is now the second largest, and their average wage is around $3300 / year. The more money the government has, the less the private sector has.

Many people in Natal make money selling things at the beach such as purses that turn into a towels, earrings and necklaces made from beads, seeds and even glass, popsicles, coconuts and so on. There was an Argentinian woman who made a living as the owner of an internet house where tourists would go to access their e-mail and browse the net. An Italian couple made money there by opening an Italian restaurant (and they cook so divine!). May be you could help out at a restaurant too. As Natal is filled with tourists, I can see how people there would want to brush up on their English. I was surprised at how the locals already knew how to communicate with the tourists there. May be teaching English would be a good idea. I don't know... I've been to Natal and it's amazing there. I recomend you spend some time at Pipa. Have fun!

Are you a musician or some other kind of artist? I know people who made good money by playing at restaurants or things like drawing caricatures, things like that.

Try to sell drugs.

Well, everyone works differently, but I work best by getting a book from the library, or a bookstore, or even borrowing one, reading it, and just trying it out on my own. You can hire a tutor, use a book, online tutorials, ask others you know who are programmers to help, etc.

I'm brazilian and i not advice you go to brazil without money, you can't earn money without speak portuguese. Work more and then go to Brazil.
6 :
You might need to spend a few years learning about publishing and advertising and online marketing and then some money will come to you. You might want to start by creating a website or a blog, then adding content to it, that's the basis for a platform from where you can then sell ad space.... this is easily done, but you need a site and traffic going to it just concentrate on that and don't expect to make any money at first.
7 :
It's not easy to live in Brazil if u dont speak their language, well they're friendly and all... watch my advice: learn to speak portuguese then think to go to brazil if u have money to spend some days only visiting the attractions, [as vacation] its perfect! but why do u think they go to usa to work [find a job]?

Online money isn't as easy to get as it seems. Many people have a go at it somehow then fail and end up thinking it's impossible, but if you stick to it, eventually it will open up to you as with all things. There's some info at: http://bestinternetfind.solutionsarticles.com/free-work-from-home-help.html You get a website, all you have to do is promote it, it's free to have a look so there's no risk even if you don't know what you are doing or decide it isn't for you.
9 :
well, you could try teaching english... look online for an english school in the area, you know what you could probably make a profit on is sample packs of (US Brand) tanning lotions- you buy them for $3-5 bucks, but sell them for double or more to the brazilians on the beach.. they will want American stuff- so also maybe Victoria secret stuff, or bath and body works.. (but those are larger bottles- so maybe not that) maybe some small US keychains- maybe some cool US jewelry. or t shirts but they are a bit bulky, maybe wifebeater style tshirts.
10 :
I am Brazilian, you can earn money teaching English for intermediate or advanced English students if you can't speak Portuguese. That is sad you are not coming to Rio, I really need someone to talk in English. Good luck
11 :
The best place to make money is in Sao Paulo city, because there is a place that has lots of people and things are really cheap! For exemple foods, clothes, CDs, eletronics and all that stuff.. but they are all fake things, imported in Paraguay or somewhere else ;P except the food, of course haha

You should try using Sports Fans to make your profit i.e a hotel/motel etc selling jerseys hats flags if you are in the food Businessmaybe decorating putting in stuff to draw hungry sports fans in to eat putting up t.v.s and just making the whole place heated up with sports it would help if you were a little mire specific on exactly what your trying to do.
2 :
Invent a stupid noise making device and then sell them there.
3 :
Book a bunch of hotel rooms at places near the stadium and then you can resell your reservation when the time gets closer.
4 :
look for contacts in fifa and other people from the inside so that you get information before everyone else. With this fresh info, you can keep those football fanatics updated in a website with will definitely gain a good targeted readership. You can then sell them football merchandise like that bloody vuvuzela

Heres the thing... If you worked at a normal gym where a person pays 40 'reals' a month, even if you got half of that thats 20 reals which is like $12.50 USD for a month work. since your american you are a imported product and rich brazilians love that stuff so they can look better in front of other people, ??. Take advantage of that , be a private trainer and you will make tons of money. Invest in advertising yourself and they will come to you.
2 :
Okay, I made a research on the Brazilian Yahoo, and found answers from Personal Trainers themselves. You're looking at an average of 90 reais per hour (about 50 dollars). 4,000 a month (about 2,250 dollars). Hope this helps you, good luck.

I live in California and am a Brazilian citizen. The owner of a mid-sized beer factory in Brazil is willing to export to the US and I would like to facilitate this processs. How should I do to make money of this? Any ideas? If your advice is to become the importer, how hard is it? What are the steps I should take? If staying between the factory and the importer is your suggeston, how should I do it? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Well depend on what your standard of living well entails. I can see you are planing on working for your living so you do speak the language, and it also depend on your specialization as a nurse. The best way to find out is to apply for a job or to research in line what they are paying for nurses in your specialty. You could also look up the private Plastic surgery clinics in the city you are intending to live if they are hiring english speaking nurses. The living cost of life in Brazil is not cheap, there are cheap things like the food that compensates for the others. And you will without doubt live a better life there. Good luck
